Non-domestic Animals

I am lucky enough to live fairly close to Cotswolds Wildlife Park in Burford and have visited there several times. The first time I just went as a visitor. I think on my third trip I went as a photographer. Here are some of my favourite shots:

This picture is of my favourite animal, the red panda. I completely fell in love with these cute furry animals when I first visited Cotswolds. The red panda is the most common appearing animal amongst my animal photos and I could watch them for hours and take photos of them.

This owl was a very good subject to photograph as he or she stayed almost perfectly still for me. A very co-operative animal to work with.

This yellow mongoose, on the other hand, was far more difficult to photograph as, a bit like a meerkat, was constantly on the lookout for enemies and didn't stay still for very long. I'm not sure what he was looking at in this photo but whatever it was it managed to hold his gaze for long enough for me to get this shot.

The penguins were a really fun animal to shoot. They kept jumping in and out of the water. This little guy however was having more fun watching on the sidelines which was very useful to me as I managed to get this very flattering side on profile.

This baby prairie dog had just been fed and was happily munching away on a piece of carrot. I got this shot of him having a spot of lunch.

This close up shot of an ostrich is one of my favourite. I really think that he stands out against the blurred background.

This giraffe was doing a spot of sun bathing and very kindly turned her head towards me so I could take this photo. I really like this shot as it looks like she is in her natural habitat.

This shot however doesn't look as natural but with the manor house in the background I think it is a rather stunning photo with the rhino grazing in the foreground.
